Most smartphones are now launching in the
market with fingerprint scanners. There are also fingerprint sensors in the
special features of smartphones that have seen a lot of demand in users. You
use the fingerprint sensor in the smartphone to unlock your phone. Fingerprint
sensor keeps your phone secure so that your phone can not unlock anything else.In addition
to this, fingerprint is used not only in the phone but also in your laptop and
in your documents as well as your fingerprint. But do you know how the
fingerprint sensor of your phone works? So let's know
What is fingerprint sensor?
In simple words, we can tell it as a system that scans the surface of
your finger, which changes them into a code that can be used to verify against
the database. If you follow carefully, you will know that different types of
fingerprint scanners are used in a security system. Let's see what they are?
Optical Scanner
The optical scanner puts a bright color over
your fingerprint that captures the digital photo of your fingerprint. After
this digital photo is feared in the computer for further verification. This
light-sensitive microchip like CCD, charger-coupled device, or CMOS image
sensor is used to make digital photos. This image automatically converts your
fingerprint into code
Capacitive scanner
Capacitive scanner works by measuring your
finger electrically. Because there is a distance between each of your fingers,
the capacitive scanner calculates these distances and creates an image of your
fingerprint. Such scanners are identical to the touchscreen given in the iPhone
and iPad. We will tell you how this process is completed, when you put your
finger in the scanner. So let's know
First of all, in a scanner device where you keep
a finger, a bright light burns. This light reflects on the CCD or CMOS image
sensor by touching your finger through glass. If image capture process takes
more time then the image will be bright on the image sensor. An algorithm is
used for this test. It tells you that the captured image is too light or deep.
After which the sound of a beep comes, which alerts you and then again brings
you back to the process.
This device alerts you even when the captured
image does not have an alternative light and sufficient light. After these
tests, the scanner tells you whether the image is correct or using the other LED
indicator through the beeping. Now the captured image is saved in flash memory.
Which is then transmitted to a computer for the next step. Now it will be the
computer's work that the image has to be stored in the database or in the
database it is already compaired with the Save fingerprint.
